At Roda Golf Academy we offer beginners courses, perfectionism and competition. Our courses adapt to the needs of each player, beginner or advanced.
Clinics
These clinics are perfect for people to learn in groups and are aimed at golf societies, businesses, families and friends to have fun whilst learning various attributes of the game. Clinic topics, timings and number of participants can be arranged through Paul at The Golf Academy.
3 Hour Course
This personalised program is split over 3 hours of tuition and is suitable for all different levels of golfers from complete beginner to advanced standard. After an initial consultation with Paul, he will guide you through a platform of coaching to develop your game. The course includes tuition with V1 coaching analysis, video summary and practice plan.
6 Hour Course
Using a similar approach to the 3 hour Package, the 6 hour program allows the pro/student bond to develop even further creating more time to improve the students full swing as well as develop techniques in other requirements of the game. Full swing analysis and data is provided along with tutorial videos and practice regimes.
Junior School
In our junior school we offer groups for beginners, perfectioning and competition. We use the latest teaching technology and use all types of materials to make the class fun as well as improving your level of play.
With the competition group we make the most of the technology we have in our analysis room to get the most from our students.
Adult school
In our adult school we also offer beginner classes, perfectioning and advanced. You learn to perfect all the shots, taking into account the needs of each student.
We use all the practice facilities, golf course and analysis room.
Paul Carpenter
Paul, born in England, began his career at The Gleneagles Hotel (home to the Ryder Cup 2014) where he learned his trade alongside many other top Professional’s and became PGA qualified in 2003. Paul expanded his experience by working internationally before heading back to Scotland to work as Head of Instruction at Royal Troon Golf Club (Open Championship venue).
Since 2014, Paul has owned and managed The Paul Carpenter Golf Academy in Murcia where he will now be based at Roda Golf & Beach Resort and looks forward to building a thriving Golf Academy and helping many players develop their golf. He is a friendly, likeable person with superb overall golfing knowledge and will be utilizing the best technology in golf. V1 Sports, Foresight Sports, HMT Swing data, Myswing, Hackmotion wrist measurements and Blast motion putting sensors.
He teaches to a complete spectrum of golfers from beginner to pro, all ages from toddlers to the elderly, male and female as well as less abled people and partially sighted. He treats every single lesson the same, providing high quality instruction and adapts his teaching methods to the individual, understanding the players learning capacities and measuring the content in order for them to develop and improve in the correct way.
Driving Range
A very pleasant place to practice with 15 individual bays. Large and separated by wooden panels and totally covered to use the facilities during any season of the year
The opening hours isn’t a problem either, you can even play after dark, all bays are light up as well as the driving range itself.
Our putting green is a good size and has a sof inclination, ideal to practice this part of the game.
And the chipping green, approach and bunker area for practicing your short game.

Trackman
Trackman is a next-generation device that uses Doppler radar technology to provide a range of data on the club at the time of impact and ball flight. It is used by all the top manufacturers of golf clubs and golf balls to test the quality of their material, as well as used by the best golf stores to fit their clients, and the most demanding coaches to provide a quality unparalleled service to its students, and also the world’s top players to improve their game (Tiger Woods, Justin Rose, Martin Kaymer, Dustin Johnson, Ian Poulter, etc.).
Data collected by this system is not even available to even the highest level of video cameras and allows users to quickly identify trends and determine the characteristics, and the golf coach to identify trends at time of impact.
Smash Factor is ball speed divided by club speed.
Smash Factor relates to the amount of energy transferred from the club head to the golf ball.
The higher the smash factor the better the energy transfer.
Spin Rate is the amount of spin on the golf ball immediately after impact.
Spin rate has a major influence on the height and distance of a shot. Spin rate is one of the least appreciated numbers, especially in windy conditions.
Launch Angle is the angle the ball takes off at relative to the ground.
Launch angle is highly correlated to dynamic loft. Launch angle will always be a little less than dynamic loft, but will have a similar value.
Carry is the distance the ball travels through the air.
An important thing to know about carry is that the value is given for a landing area that is the same height as where the ball is hit from. Then the golfer can adjust for uphill and downhill shots on the course.
Ball Speed is the speed of the golf ball immediately after impact.
Ball speed is created by club speed and impact.
Bad impact such as shots hit on the toe or heel will reduce the potential ball speed.
Club Speed determines a golfer’s potential distance
Club Speed is the speed the club head is traveling immediately prior to impact. More club speed equals more potential distance
Dynamic Loft is the amount of loft on the club face at impact.
The golfer’s attack angle, how the shaft bends, how the golfer releases the club head, whether the club face is open or closed to the club path, and where the ball makes contact on the club face can all impact the dynamic loft.
Attack Angle is the direction the club head is moving (up or down) at impact.
Shots hit off the ground should have a negative attack angle in order to create “ball first” contact.
However, golfers with slower club speeds should be careful not to hit too much down (negative attack angle) with their irons.
Club Path is the direction the club head is moving (right or left) at impact.
Most golfers relate this number to hitting the ball “in-to-out” or “out-to-in”.
A positive value means the club is moving to the right of the target at impact (“in-to-out” for a right-handed golfer) and a negative value means it is moving to the left of the target (“out-to-in” for a right-handed golfer).
Face Angle is the direction the club face is pointed (right or left) at impact.
Most golfers refer to this as having an “open” or “closed” club face..
A positive value means the club face is pointed to the right of the target at impact (“open” for a right-handed golfer) and a negative value means the club face is pointed to the left of the target (“closed” for a right-handed golfer).
K-vest
K-vest is a combination of waistcoat and gloves, using 3 wireless sensors placed on the hips, shoulders and on the gloves to improve the diagnosis of the true causes of the problems with precision, and distance sending a feedback report immediately.This means that the student will make the movements the coach needs to analyze, and by means of sound and a screen graph can check if you are doing it correctly. Once the swing has been captured digitally, the player can practice without the jacket and will receive constant and automatic feedback with each movement.
The installed software as well as other things allows and analysis of angles, postures and gives a reading of the kinetic sequence of the player. In other words, the system analyzes the sequence of the swing detecting errors that prevent a correct swing, this being today’s best way to improve the movements of your swing.
The Sam PuttLab
The Sam PuttLab is an analysis and training system based on the precise measurements of ultrasound. It analyzes the 28 most important part of the swing, putt and sends results in a graphic report very easy to understand. It discovers your strong and weak points for a more efficient training. In only a few seconds the system offers data of your swing and putt. The analysis even reveals small details of your movements and allows permits the developments of a better training strategy. SAM PuttLab uses an analysis of ultrasound sensors, which makes it more exact than any other product n the market.
You can have weeks of good putting and then bad putting and vice versa. This system can be of great help, even with the smaller details that even the coach can’t see. Improve your putting by finding your faults.
